About Us

Marty is one of the founders of the firm and has been practicing for over 30 years. Marty enjoys working with business owners and individuals to help them understand and achieve their goals and objectives. He also enjoys working with the Kopmeyer & Talty team to help them achieve their goals and objectives and help them be the best advisors they can be.

Marty grew up in Cleveland Ohio and attended the University of Toledo where he earned his bachelor’s in business administration. Marty earned his CPA License in 1986 and has been practicing in the field of public accounting ever since. Staying on top of technology trends and the latest information relating to tax planning opportunities is very important to provide the best service to our client base.

Marty and his wife Pam live in Livonia. Marty is active in the community and serves on various local boards, committees and is very active in the Livonia Rotary Club. He loves to root for the Toledo Rockets and Detroit Lions. If the sun is up and the wind is down, it is possible he will be out on Lake Erie chasing walleye and perch!

Sharon joined the firm in the fall of 1999. Sharon works with a diverse client list including business and individuals. Her skills include income tax planning, preparation of tax returns and financial statements as well as assistance with QuickBooks. Sharon is detail orientated and has great analytic skills.

Sharon is a licensed CPA. She received her degree at Eastern Michigan and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Sharon lives in Livonia, and if she is not at the office, you will find her enjoying time with her family, riding her bike on various trails or, in the winter, snow shoeing.

Tom joined the firm in February 2001. Tom retired from Ford Motor Company and joined our team to help with preparation of personal income tax returns. Tom is detail oriented and very good at finding every deduction possible for you. Tom also makes the best coffee in the office!

Tom is an Army Veteran and hails from Buffalo, New York where he graduated from Canisius College.

Tom lives in Livonia and enjoys spending time with family and friends. Tom loves rooting his grandkids on in their school and sport activities. If you want to go out to dinner with Tom, you better order dessert!

Denise joined the firm in February of 2009. Denise works with businesses and individual clients. Her skills include organizing accounting records for businesses and individuals. Denise is skilled with QuickBooks and can help business owners better understand their financial condition.

Denise earned her degree at Eastern Michigan University and is an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service.

Denise lives in Novi and enjoys spending time with family, going “Up North”, photography and rooting for the University of Michigan Wolverines…Go Blue!

Lynn Joined the firm in February of 2016. Lynn works with our business owners and individual clients. She prepares financial statements, tax returns and helps keep business records organized. Lynn is detail oriented. She enjoys helping people keep their information properly categorized and structured.

Lynn grew up in northern Michigan, commonly referred to by us Michiganders as the “U P”. She graduated from Michigan Tech University with a degree in accounting. She has worked in the public accounting field with other firms and she has run her own firm. She understands how businesses operate and what business owners go through on a day to day basis.

Lynn lives in Northville. When she is not working at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, working out at the gym and traveling. Lynn will likely be found on the golf course where she shoots in the 80’s. If it is any colder than that, she does not go.

Nick joined the firm in January of 2020.  He works with both individual and business clients.  His skills include individual, business, trust and estate income tax preparation as well as general accounting for businesses. 

Nick is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan – Dearborn, and is currently working on obtaining his CPA designation.

Nick grew up in Livonia and currently lives in Plymouth.  When he is not working, he enjoys camping, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.  His favorite sports team is the Detroit Lions!  Forward down the field… 

Paula joined the firm in 2017. Paula is our Director of First Impressions. She is responsible for the administration tasks relating to the firm. Paula makes sure that appointments are set, tax returns and financial statements are delivered and that the team has all the tools required to do their jobs.

Paula earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville. Before coming to the firm, she was the office administrator at St. Michael’s grade school in Livonia where she was responsible for 850 kids getting all necessary information to their families and making sure that the staff had everything they needed to do their jobs.

Paula lives in Plymouth and enjoys time with family, rooting for the Louisville Cardinals and against the Kentucky Wildcats when ever possible. She also loves to travel, especially to warm climates.

Pam joined the firm in 2002. Pam worked for 15 years as a computer engineer and project manager at Ford Motor Company before joining Kopmeyer & Talty. She is responsible for all technology at our firm. She is skilled at keeping our technology at the state-of-the-art levels we have become accustomed to.

Pam received her computer Engineering Degree from the University of Toledo and her master’s in business administration from the University of Michigan. She attends all the Thomson Reuters User Conferences in order to stay up to date on the latest tools and trends in the technology area of Accounting.

When Pam is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, hiking, and whenever possible, lounging on the boat. Her husband reports that she is an accomplished captain and fisherperson.

Tim joined the firm in August of 2018. He works with our business and individual clients and is responsible for all levels of service relating to his client base. Tim is skilled at helping clients identify their goals and objectives as well as help achieve them. He is the “go to” guy in our office for guidance with electronic document management and assistance in identifying technology tools that will help both our staff and our clients become more efficient.

Tim attended Xavier University where he earned a degree in accounting. Upon graduation, he began his career at PwC in private client services and earned his CPA license in 2017. Tim then gained experience at Ryder Logistics as a financial analyst before joining Kopmeyer & Talty PC. We are fortunate to have his skill set available to us at the firm to offer to our client base.

Tim and his wife Teresa live in Farmington and when he is not working, he enjoys spending time with family, watching sports, rooting for the Xavier Musketeers, Michigan State Spartans, and our beloved Detroit Lions. Most of all, he loves to be outdoors either boating, fishing, tailgating or traveling.

Robyn joined the firm in the fall of 1999. Robyn works with businesses, individuals, and Trusts/Estates. Her skills include income tax planning and preparation, financial statement preparation and IRS representation. Robyn enjoys working with people to help resolve tax issues and works tirelessly to minimize tax costs whenever possible.

Robyn is an Army Veteran and received her degree at Walsh College. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a licensed CPA.

Robyn lives in Oak Park and if she is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music and hiking with her dog.

Amber joined the firm in August of 2022. She works with businesses and individual clients. Her skills include organizing accounting records for businesses and individuals, bookkeeping, and assistance with QuickBooks.

Amber graduated from Oakland University with a degree in political science, and recently completed an accounting certificate at Washtenaw Community College. She worked as a business manager with a small business in the newspaper and advertising industry prior to joining Kopmeyer & Talty PC. She understands how businesses operate and what business owners go through from paying employees to year-end reporting and budgeting analysis.

Amber grew up in Livonia, and currently lives in Garden City. She enjoys time with family, sewing, and practicing Shotokan karate.
